History
The Red Apple Inn and Country Club was built by Herbert L. Thomas in 1963. Built on 650 acres of rural farmland and tangled forest, the resort soon became a widely renowned island resort. The Inn and main restaurant were designed by a Dallas architect who was a student of Frank Lloyd Wright. Each room was decorated using furnishings from Spain, Italy, and Mexico giving it a Mediterranean look. A historic gate from a castle in Spain was used as an entry to the After 5 Lounge. The Inn was acquired by Patti and Dick Upton in 1995. Through an on-going renovation program, the Uptons have created a true Garden of Eden. In keeping with their goal of leaving the Inn as natural as possible, the Uptons' strong sense of style is evident in all aspects of The Red Apple. ![]() home | activities | packages/pricing special events | conference sales | contact us | map Copyright © 2004 Red Apple Inn |
